Major Bozhidar Plamenov Petkov officially took office
Today, July 6th, 2026, the official ceremony took place at the Conference center of Regional administration Vidin on the occasion of the promotion to the military rank of major of captain Bozhidar Petkov and his appointment as chief of Military district II Degree - Vidin.
"I am convinced that in the future Your decisions will be guided by a sense of duty, justice and honor, and Your efforts will continue to contribute to the strengthening of the defense capabilities and prosperity of the Bulgarian army, in accordance with the decrees and laws of the country," said the Regional governor Ognyan Asenov in his greeting and presented a congratulatory address to major Bozhidar Petkov.
During the event, a succession ceremony was held, at which the civilian employee Stoyan Toshev was relieved of his position - for the position of chief of the Military district - Vidin. The chief of the Military district I Degree - Pleven, colonel Ivan Ivanov, presented the newly appointed chief with the epaulettes for the position and the honorary badge of the Central military district. Colonel Ivanov presented the Regional governor Ognyan Asenov with the publication "History of the military districts in Bulgaria". The chief of the Military district - Vidin in the period 2022-2026, currently a member of the 52nd National Assembly, major eng. Tsvetomir Tsvetanov, presented Bozhidar Petkov with the emblem of the military institution.
The event was attended by leaders and representatives of state and local authorities - including the mayor of Vidin municipality, mayors and deputy mayors of municipalities, the director of the RD MI - Vidin, the director of RD "Fire safety and population protection" - Vidin, the heads of the Border police department in Vidin and Bregovo, the head of the Regional management of education, the heads of the Regional historical museum and the State archives, former heads of the Military district II Degree - Vidin, the Union of reserve officers and sergeants - Vidin, the Military club and the Patriotic club "Bdintsi".
