The regional governor of Vidin Region Mr. Plamen Stefanov became an affiliate of the national campaign of BTV (national private television) - \"Let\'s clean up Bulgaria for one day.\" In the presence of the campaign manager Mrs. Maria Lazarova, the Governor said that through this project the public will become more responsible for maintaining the environment. Mr. Stefanov thanked for the opportunity to involve in the voluntary initiative and noted that to be successful the campaign - \"Cleaning Bulgaria for one day!\" should include primarily young people in its realization.
In the Conference Centre of Regional Administration - Vidin the project manager Maria Lazarova explained that more than one third of the regions in the country have already become part of the initiative. In her words the interactive card created in the Internet is marked with more than 800 contaminated sites, many of them are illegal dumps. This year cleaning is expected to be organized in all 264 municipalities in the country.
The Vice Regional Governor Mrs. Elka Georgieva proposed to establish a working group comprising experts from the Regional Administration – Vidin, Regional Education Inspectorate, NGO representatives, members of the Youth Parliament - Vidin and volunteers from The Red Cross - Vidin. On September 1st, 2011 will be held the first work meeting, at which will be discuss the organization and the necessary resources to clean the municipalities of Vidin Region.
Mr. Plamen Stefanov received the flag of the campaign, which launched the initiative of BTV Company in Vidin Region.
