Today, October 3rd, 2025, The Regional governor of Vidin Mrs. Ani Arutyunyan attended the official opening of the newly built helipad, located in the courtyard of the MHAT "Sveta Petka" in Vidin. In the pouring rain, His Eminence metropolitan Pachomius of Vidin performed the blessing of the facility.
"The heliport is an important acquisition for healthcare in the region - a symbol of the modern development of our hospital - a guarantee and an instrument of hope that when a patient is in danger, he can receive timely life-saving assistance," said the Regional governor.
The hospital heliport is part of the national network for emergency medical care by air, which will allow for significantly faster and safer transport of patients in critical condition to university hospitals in the country, reducing the response time of medical teams.
Vidin is the next city in Bulgaria with a functioning heliport. The project was implemented by the Ministry of health of the Republic of Bulgaria and is worth 120,000 BGN.
The opening was attended by the mayor of Vidin municipality Dr. Tsvetan Tsenkov, his deputies, as well as the chairman of the Municipal council Svetoslav Slavchev, the heads of the Regional health insurance fund, the Regional health inspectorate, institutions, organizations and citizens.
Today, the Minister of health, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvi Kirilov, visited the wards of the Vidin health facility, spoke with the staff and medical residents. Later, he will meet with the Regional governor of Vidin, Ani Arutyunyan.
