Vidin is part of the National tour of the Minister of sports assoc. dr. Dimitar Iliev, the aim of which is to build long-term cooperation with the municipalities, by commenting on the problems in sports and looking for working mechanisms to solve them. Together with the team of the Ministry of sports, representatives of institutions and sports figures in the town, Mr. Atanasov visited the indoor athletics track, the town stadium "Georgi Benkovski" and the "Rowing base". The Regional governor discussed with the sports minister the possibilities for improving the conditions of sports in the region.
Assoc. dr. Dimitar Iliev presented information about programs of the Ministry, by which the clubs can benefit from funding and expressed his concern about the poor condition of the material and technical base of the Georgi Benkovski stadium and the Rowing base in Vidin.
Later yesterday, Minister Iliev met with representatives of the sports community in the city in the Jules Paskin cultural center building, where a discussion was held on the topic: "The development of sports in the region - a field for interaction between the state, municipalities and sports clubs'. It was attended by the Deputy minister of youth and sports prof. Daniela Dasheva, the people's representative Lyuben Ivanov, the Mayor of the Vidin municipality Dr. Tsvetan Tsenkov and the Deputy mayor Borislava Borisova, representatives of sports institutions, figures and citizens.
The tour of the Minister of youth and sports assoc. dr. Dimitar Iliev continues today in Montana and Vratsa.
