The Regional advisory council on tourism held a meeting

The first working format for 2024 was opened by the Deputy regional governor Ani Arutyunyan in the meeting hall of the state administration. At the beginning of the meeting, Mrs. Arutyunyan highlighted the good positions of the Vidin region as an attractive destination, that has also found its place on the European map. The Deputy regional governor specified that actions were taken by Regional administration Vidin to clarify the status of the cultural monuments, as in a coordination procedure by all ministries, before submission to the Council of Ministers for a decision, the "Castra Martis" fortress was transferred to the management of Kula municipality. Mrs. Arutyunyan informed the attendees about the request submitted by the Vidin municipality to the Ministry of regional development and public works for providing free management for a period of 10 years of the "Cross barracks" museum, part of the fortress walls of turkish kale, that are forming a ditch, "fortresses" turkish kale walls with Florentine kapiya", that are forming a ditch, "Pazar kapiya" and part of fortress walls from the "Baba Vida" fortress to Telegraph kapiya". This became possible after an expert meeting with representatives of the Ministry of culture, held on 17.08.2023 in the state administration at which were discussed a specific measures and actions, that the institutions should take in order to change the appearance of the historical heritage of the people of Vidin.

At the meeting of the Regional advisory council on tourism today, the participation of the Vidin region in the Jubilee international tourist exchange - "Vacation and SPA Expo" was discussed, which will be held in the city of Sofia from 13.03.2024 to 15.03.2024.

The council members also reviewed organizational issues related to implemented and future project and investment intentions in the field of tourism in the municipalities of Vidin, Belogradchik, Dimovo and Kula.

As part of the agenda, the participants in the Regional advisory council on tourism also discussed the issue of planned classes in the field of tourism at PST "Mihalaki Georgiev" and PHS "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov", to be included in the state plan - admission.

At the end of the meeting, the Deputy regional governor Ani Arutyunyan expressed hope, that the goals set in improving the appearance of municipalities in 2024 will contribute to the development of tourism and the attraction of more visitors to Vidin region.
