On January the 21st, when the Day of maternity assistance is celebrated, representatives of the guild and guests, including the secretary of the Vidin municipality Emilian Enchev, came to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department to show their respect for the professional care of doctors and midwives, who are the first to welcome the new life into the world .
On behalf of the Regional governor Ivo Atanasov and on her own behalf, Mrs. Arutyunyan presented bouquets and a congratulatory address to the head of the AGD, Dr. Yurka Atanasova, and the executive director of the hospital, Dr. Iveta Naydenova. "Today's holiday brings appreciation, meaning, hope for the future - our children. Let's wish that there will be more babies born in Vidin region, who will grow up healthy, be worthy citizens of our society!", said the Deputy regional governor and wished the workers in the department to remain dedicated to their highly humane profession in the future. Ani Arutyunyan presented potted flowers for every woman in the ward.
Archpriest Marian Stefanov and priest Stavri Velinov officiated а blessing holy water ritual for health and well-being. Traditionally, the "watering the grandmother's hands" ritual was also performed. The 27-year-old woman in labor Petya Lyubchova - mother of the first baby for 2024, Liya, washed the hands of the senior midwife Natasha Kirova, and to the accompaniment of the City's brass orchestra in the courtyard of the Vidin hospital, a crowd of people gathered.
In the past year, 117 babies were born in the medical facility, until today there are 6 of them, the last one being a girl and she cried that night.
