The Regional governor of Vidin region Ognyan Asenov and the Deputy regional governor Prolet Georgieva-Nikolova participated in the commemorative ceremony, which marked the 150th anniversary of the heroic death of the great Bulgarian revolutionary Hristo Botev and his detachment.
In front of the monument to the hero and those who died for the freedom and independence of the Fatherland, the leadership of Regional administration Vidin honored with a minute of silence the heroism, self-sacrifice and patriotism of the immortal heroes who left a bright mark in the history of the Motherland. The Regional governor laid a wreath in memory of Botev's volunteers who sacrificed their lives for free Bulgaria.
During the event, the work and sacrifice of the revolutionary and his comrades were recalled, as well as the importance of their struggle for national liberation. A patriotic recital was presented by students from "Tsar Simeon Veliki" SS in Vidin, who performed poems dedicated to Botev and the heroes who died for freedom.
