The Regional governor attended the opening of the renovated Home for the elderly in the village of Kutovo

The Regional governor of Vidin region Ognyan Asenov was among the official guests at the opening ceremony of the renovated Home for the elderly in the village of Kutovo. He congratulated the team of the social institution, emphasizing the importance of such investments in improving the quality of social services and ensuring good conditions for a dignified life for the elderly.

During the event, the ribbon of the social institution was symbolically cut, and Hi Highs Eminence metropolitan Pachomius of Vidin, co-celebrated with archimandrite Joachim and father Vladimir Petrov, performed the blessing of water for health and well-being.

Among the official guests were the Deputy minister of Labor and social policy Nadya Klisurska, the leadership of the Vidin municipality, the manager of the company that carried out the renovation, as well as representatives of state and municipal institutions. Tsvetana Dikova, a social service user since 2025, expressed her gratitude on behalf of all residents of the home.

The Deputy minister of Labor and social policy, Nadya Klisurska, pointed to Vidin region as an example of a region that provides a full range of social services to the most vulnerable groups in society. “I am convinced that work is being done here purposefully and with dedication, so that care for people meets the highest standards,” said Deputy minister Nadya Klisurska.

The guests had the opportunity to see both the improved conditions and the chapel in the home, named after the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Peter and Paul.

The renovation of the Home for the elderly in the village of Kutovo was financed under the National recovery and sustainability plan at a cost of over 1,218,000 EUR including VAT. A total of 20 users are accommodated in the home, which has filled its full capacity. The project includes improving the living conditions of users and creating a more accessible, safe and modern environment for the provision of social services. Eight energy efficiency measures have been implemented, the buildings have been renovated and extended, a warm connection has been built between the two buildings, an elevator has been installed and the yard has been landscaped.
