A delegation from Vidin region visited Ortenau region, Germany

From the second to the fifth of June 2024, a delegation from Vidin рegion, led by the secretary general of Vidin Regional Administration, visited Ortenau region, Baden-Württemberg province, Germany at the invitation of the Regional governor Frank Scherer.

The visit was within the framework of the Agreement for partnership and cooperation, that Vidin Regional Administration and Ortenau Regional Administration signed on 20th of April, 2011.

The delegation included the mayors of the Ruzhintsi and Chuprene municipalities - Alexander Alexandrov and Mariya Todorova, the deputy mayor of the Bregovo municipality Kremena Gogoritsova, representatives of the management and supervisory board of the Bulgarian-Romanian company "Danube Bridge Vidin - Calafat" JSC and representatives of local companies.

During the visit, the hosts presented the organization of work in companies dealing with animal breeding and meat production; bread and bakery products; a local company engaged in the cultivation of vineyards and the production of wine.

To the Bulgarian delegation was presented the technology for waste separation and processing at the ZAK plant, which serves the territory of two neighboring regions in the province of Baden-Württemberg.

The Bulgarian delegation also visited the vocational high school in Lahr, which applies dual training and has built a sustainable cooperation with companies working in various fields. The school has shown interest in finding "virtual enterprises" partners from Vidin region.

After the presentation of the vocational school, the Regional governor of Ortenau made a donation to schools in Vidin region in the form of mobile and computer devices. On behalf of the Regional governor of Vidin, the secretary general of Vidin Regional Administration presented a plaque of appreciation to Frank Scherer for his significant contribution to the promotion and development of Vidin region.

In the program of the Bulgarian delegation was included a visit to the city of Ettenheim, where a meeting with the mayor of the city was held. The program of the delegation ended with an organized visit and presentation of the largest amusement park in Germany - Europa park and the newly built Rulantica complex.

At the end of the visit, the participants in the Bulgarian delegation expressed their satisfaction with the established cooperation and the represented local enterprises and companies, highlighting the indisputable results that are achieved when there is continuity between generations in the development of family companies and a vision for upgrading the activities, according to the requirements of the market.

The Bulgarian and German sides declared their desire to continue cooperation between the Vidin and Ortenau regions.
